Data communication is encrypted using HTTP protocol and obfuscated through segmentation and renaming of blocks with unique 512-bit hashes.

Files, folders, and users can only be deleted through a double command, allowing recovery before final deletion.

Files and folders, as well as group users, can be erased only by a double command, enabling full recovery before permanent erasure.

REDUNDANCY

User data is protected by double redundancy through RAID 61 configuration. This ensures that no data is lost in case of a disk failure, as it is mirrored across other disks in the infrastructure. Online Redundant Resources

Babylon Cloud’s strategy is to keep all resources online and redundant, eliminating recovery times or data loss to restore points (RTO and RPO). The system does not need to fix errors or failures but tolerates them while keeping secondary resources constantly online.

HIGH DISTRIBUTION

High resource distribution, all networked at the same level and connected to all resources at higher and lower levels, allows for optimal distribution of calls and I/O. This distribution helps optimize throughput while minimizing system response latency.

Resource optimization

The principles of overbooking and deduplication are key pillars of Babylon Cloud’s environmentally sustainable system. Additionally, the extremely low power consumption of Babylon Cloud production systems is powered by renewable energy sources, helping us achieve zero environmental impact for our production services.

OVERBOOKING

Babylon Cloud minimizes unused system resources by employing overbooking strategies, which allocate resources at the time of actual use rather than at the service allocation moment. Overbooking is a key reason for the very low power consumption (currently around 1.27 watts/TB nominal/day), which would otherwise be impossible to achieve.

DEDUPLICATION

Block deduplication minimizes occupied space and internet bandwidth, ensuring that the system does not resend deduplicated blocks or store already-written information twice.
